Every piece right and the check clears. Three wrong and the weather takes it.
A thing moves. Stop it twice. Once going across, once going down.
These terms are a binding agreement between you and Terrible Game Co. Please read them before you pay. Ticking the box at the coin slot means you accept them.
1. Who you are dealing with. Hack Job is operated by Terrible Game Co, a sole proprietorship owned by Tasha Elflein, located in the State of Indiana, United States. Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "I" mean Terrible Game Co, and "you" means the person using the game.
2. What you are buying. You are buying a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to play one job in Hack Job. A job consists of three buildings. You are not buying the game, any copy of it, any file, or any ownership interest of any kind. Access is granted immediately upon successful payment and is delivered entirely within your web browser. Nothing is shipped.
3. Price and payment. The price is one United States dollar per job, stated before purchase and charged in full at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's own payment form and are never received by, transmitted to, or stored by us. Your use of Stripe's services is also governed by Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
4. Refunds. Because access is delivered immediately and in full at the moment of purchase, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds for change of mind, for not enjoying the game, or for having finished it.
We will issue a refund where any of the following applies, provided you contact us within thirty (30) days of the charge:
(a) you were charged but access was never granted; (b) you were charged more than once for the same job; (c) the charge was not authorised by you or by a person permitted to use your payment method.
Requests must be sent to [email protected] and should include the approximate date and time of the charge. We aim to respond within five business days. Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Any refund granted outside the circumstances above is a one-time courtesy at our sole discretion and does not create an ongoing entitlement.
5. Disputed charges. If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us before disputing it with your bank or card issuer. We would rather fix it directly and we can usually do so faster. We reserve the right to decline future service to any person who initiates a chargeback without first contacting us.
6. What is stored on your device. The game stores the following in your browser's local storage: your headstones and any text you wrote on them, your career earnings, how many buildings you have completed, how many buildings remain on a purchased job, your chosen difficulty, whether you have accepted these terms and which version, and a randomly generated identifier for this browser. This information stays on your device and is cleared if you clear your browser data. Clearing it may remove buildings you have paid for and not yet played.
7. What is sent when you pay. A payment record carries a randomly generated browser identifier, which numbered play it is, the difficulty and role you selected, the website you arrived from, and the version of these terms you accepted. It does not carry your name, your email address, your postal address, your card details, or your IP address in any form we retain. We use it only to understand how the game is played.
8. We do not sell your data. We do not sell, rent, licence, trade or otherwise disclose personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not display third-party advertising inside the game, we do not embed advertising or tracking pixels, and we do not work with data brokers. Nothing here limits our right to promote our own games elsewhere.
9. Email. If you choose to give us an email address, we will use it to tell you about new games and whatever else we are up to. We will not sell it, rent it, or hand it to anybody else. Every message will include a working unsubscribe link and a physical mailing address, and you may unsubscribe at any time.
10. Intellectual property. Hack Job, including its code, text, artwork, characters and design, is Copyright 2026 Tasha Elflein. All rights reserved. The licence in section 2 does not permit you to copy, host, mirror, redistribute, sell, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or create derivative works from the game, or to remove or obscure any notice of ownership.
11. Acceptable use. You agree not to circumvent or attempt to circumvent payment, to interfere with or disrupt the service, to access it by automated means, or to use it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for any breach of this section.
12. Eligibility. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old, or the age of majority where you live, to make a purchase. If you are under that age you may use any freely available parts of the site but you may not pay for anything. The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under thirteen.
13. Availability. The game is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, secure, or compatible with any particular device or browser. We may modify, suspend or discontinue the game, in whole or in part, at any time.
14. Disclaimer of warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
15. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or relating to the game or these terms, whether in contract, tort including negligence, or otherwise, shall not exceed the greater of the total amount you actually paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose, or one United States dollar. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain of these exclusions, and in those places our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law permits.
16. Nothing here is professional advice. Hack Job is a work of comedy. The dollar amounts, depreciation figures, deductibles, payouts and construction outcomes shown in it are invented for entertainment and are deliberately absurd. Nothing in this game is insurance advice, legal advice, financial advice, or construction guidance, and it must not be relied upon in relation to any real claim, policy, structure or decision.
17. Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. The version you accepted is recorded with your payment. If they change materially, the acceptance box returns and you will be asked to read and accept the new version before purchasing again. Continuing to use the game after a change means you accept it.
18. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana and the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts located in the State of Indiana shall have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.
19. General. If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These terms are the entire agreement between us regarding the game and supersede anything said before.
20. Contact. Terrible Game Co, [email protected]. A physical mailing address will be provided on request and in any marketing email we send.

The weather is not a party to this agreement.
(it's only a doll hair)
It does not take long to ruin a house.
Stripe pockets me coins. I only get $.67. I hate ads, so there will never be one here, and we are not in the data selling business either.
1 roof 1 front door 2 windows
1 chimney 1 mailbox 1 tree 1 dog
One tap sets left and right. A second tap sets up and down. The yard counts too.
The dog is fine.

Hi. I'm Tasha.
First day on earth.
You just played a really dumb thing I made. Thank you for pointing and laughing with me.
Twenty one years in the workforce. The first ten in HR, the last ten in insurance restoration and roofing. In 2019 I worked as an independent adjuster, so I have inspected the loss for the carrier and I have written the estimate against the carrier.
The math in here is a bit. The numbers are astronomical on purpose and a real policy almost never looks like that. What is real is the shape of it, and I know the shape because I used to write the estimate it comes out of.
I took my love of old DOS games, because #nostalgia, and made one relevant to us. Maybe.
I built it myself. One file, no dependencies, no engine. I am giddy about it because I am fricken funny and I crack myself up.
I almost asked my aunt and uncle for a loan. I built this instead.
The dog is real. Her name is Milla and she is family. She is a sweet baby angel I have the honor of spending my days with while her dad is away. He was deployed last year and he is at Army school in Estonia now, getting more Army smarts.
She thinks she is a lion. Nobody has corrected her.
Screenshot it. We want to see the damage.
I'm going to email you. New games, and whatever else I'm up to. Want in?
Two questions. You are helping me make this better.
